Joy to the Mall

Someone passed along to me a brief video that brought tears to my eyes. So I quickly forwarded it on to some family and friends and then wanted to make sure that you see it– realizing that many of you may have already.

The video reminded me of the difference  between keeping the greatest news in the world to ourselves– or finding appropriate ways, and God given opportunities– to take that same news into the world where it belongs…

If you don’t have a good enough connection to see it, I hope you’ll be able check it out on the computer of a friend or co-worker.

Spontaneous praise…Happens all the time here in my home and in my life…I recomend it.

Thank you Mart, if the video doesn’t make you tear up and give you goose bumps, then one needs to learn what it means to have Christ in you, by simply watching those in whom Christ dwells.

Well that was amazing, you have John Lewis in the USA. Only joking, lol.

It must have been very exciting for those involved and a joy to all who were there.
That was played as the exit song to the marvelous funeral I went to last Saturday. On Sunday I attended evening service at my little Barn Church, we just had a friendly singalong followed by a supper, someone from the village gave a testomony and talked about sharing with people.
He was on the Harbour Head in the village and went up to a couple and introduced himself and Jesus.
They were from abroad and just visiting. They were amazed as they were also Christians and said that in the UK no one talks about Jesus and you can’t tell who are Christians and who are not.
It seems we have a fear of man in this country and hide behind our “stiff upper lip”
Let’s pray for God to release the Christians in this nation from the bonds of fear.

I will deffinitely be passing that video on Mart.

    God Bless

That always stirs my heart everytime I watch this. What a beautiful praise to our God!!

Two weeks ago our Pastor played one in the service from Macy’s same song with 600 people from a choir it was also so touching and beautiful. It is nice to hear people remembering what this season is truly about. It has gotten so commercialized with presents and trees that “Jesus is the Gift” gets pushed to the curb. I put a picture of Santa Claus bowing at the foot of the manger on my facebook.

Steve’s wife Glenna sent me a song “Where’s the line to see Jesus” which was made from a 4 year old’s question to his mom while waiting in line to see Santa Claus. Check that out if you have a chance on You Tube.

WOW! Pooh mentioned the Macy’s event. I received that in an email and I am continuing to play that each day. Different sound and setting but the result was the same for me for both….hair raising on my arms, tears flowing down my face and an overwhelmingly strong desire of “I can’t wait till I get to heaven so that I can join in the singing of praises to my Lord!!” (And the thought of Mom being able to hear this on a daily basis while seated at her organ is of special comfort to me.)

I know I can’t repost a website but for those who are wanting to hear Macy’s version, just google youtube: Wanamaker Organ Flash Opera Macy’s Hallelujah Chorus.

It is my understanding that the Wanamaker organ is a permanent fixture at the store!

Steve I bet you are saying “been there, done that” with the snow you are receiving again this year. We have about 3 inches but with the strong wind, it has blown into small drifts and the frozen grass is very visible. In Lucan On, just north of London, they have received 153 cm (as of 6 am today) since the weekend. That’s just over 60″ or 5′. Way too much for one snow event.

    phpatato,
Thank you. Now that I have the link, I’ll post the Macy’s version tomorrow.

Thank you for letting me know. I have posted the link in my blog written in Japanese, so that my friends can see it, too.

Surely this is the most magnificent song written by a human. Every time this is sung, I hope in my heart that one day in Heaven all of us can stand around the throne of God and sing this very song to Him.

    Thank you, Mart.

I have viewed both and felt overwhelmed, especially when my older son who is not walking with the Lord, posted this on his Facebook page saying that it was wonderful. He, of course, remembers riding in the car as his mom would listen to a wonderful tape of Handel’s Messiah-so he heard it often:-) I then told him that his Dad and I are going to a Handel’s Messiah concert on the 18th, and that maybe next year he and his wife would like to come. He reponded with “Absolutely!”. I was very thankful. Then our daughter said that she would love it if we would all come to the National Cathedral in DC next year to see the perfomance of the Messiah. I can’t wait! What a wonderful evening that will be-hearing God’s Word sung- and then the Hallelujah chorus!

Thank you for sharing this, Mart. I love being able to hear it again and again. If this is what is is like on earth, can you imagine how wonderful it will be in Heaven? Oh my, it’s mind boggling because we will never know the full beauty of praise until we are there before the Lamb of God praising Him and Him alone.

That was both amazing and ispirational. Took me about an hour and a half on dial-up to download it. The group that put that together had a very original idea.
But, as others have said I look foward to that day when all of us will sing His praises.
What’s also amazing is how the early composers wrote such beautiful music to glorify God. We hardly see any of that anymore; at least not on such a grand scale.
Handel’s Messiah is my favorite music at this time of year. The composer Bach believed that all music was supposed to glorify God; therefore he signed all his work “Soli Deo Gloria!”: To God Alone Be The Glory!

    Soli Deo Gloria!

For those who know and love God…someday!!!!

Kind of like a little foretaste.

    dja-
Good memories! I also remember my parents had an 8-track tape of Many excerpts of the Messiah they would play in the car on long trips. From the time I was about 4, I was exposed to Handel’s music. What a blessing to have many of those words memorized.
Hope you do get to attend the concert in the National Cathedral. It is a breathtaking place to visit.

    Good Evening All
Hope all is well with you all.
Mart, I felt the same way when I saw this video for the first time! I didn’t cry, but I was so moved by the beauty of this holiday gift to unsuspecting lunch goers! :-) It truly made my heart glad to see fellow pilgrims in this world honor our LORD Jesus in such a phenomenal way! Thanks for sharing this awesome video with me and the rest of the BTA family!

    Blessings,
