In the days of the Bible, the world understood the concept of a kingdom. People saw themselves as subjects of one who would rule over them until death, defeat, or voluntarily relinquishing power to a son.

Today, and most recently with the help of social media like Facebook and Twitter, governments that refuse to acknowledge the needs or opinions of the people are being forced to either resign or go to war against their own citizens.

So do we hear today what people of the past heard in the Lord’s Prayer that teaches us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (Matt 6:10)?

Am thinking it might be interesting to know what thoughts come to our minds when we hear these words.
