In our last conversation, one of our friends suggested that a good question to consider might be, “Who does God reveal himself to?”
I’ll bet if we compared notes on our collective knowledge of the Bible, we would find an amazing variety of answers.
And if we compared personal stories, would we find that we all met certain conditions before being able to believe?
Have any of us had the experience of CS Lewis who later said he felt like he was dragged kicking and screaming into the kingdom of God? (Rom 10:20).
By contrast, how many of us have a story that lines up with Jeremiah’s quote of the the Lord who says, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jer 29:13).
Ever asked God to show himself to you… as a challenge? As an honest desire to know him? Is it something you can talk about?
As a follow up to our last few posts on “what God hides”, let’s take some time over the next couple of days to talk about the range of answers we find in the Bible as well as our own stories of how we came to see the God who has since been showing us that he is far more real, present, and inexpressibly better than we ever thought…
