Joy to the World

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

The stars are still shining. There is a peace that quiets the soul.

God bless you all on this Christmas morning.

    Cordially in Christ, Ray

Just noticed that at 5:58 a.m Dec 25, before I got this posted, we received this greeting:

    Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas to All! And may the Lord’s blessings be upon you!

I notice that the carol says ”Joy” and not happiness; which comes from the word happenstance. Joy is inner and happiness is based upon outer events. My wife and I have joy in our hearts because of what God has done. But this is not a happy Christmas for us. We had a family party for my MIL at the home and she did not look good at all. She was slumped over in her wheel chair and not very cognizant or responsive. Today we go back there to have Christmas dinner with her. I pray she is a little perkier as it is really hard on my wife to see her like that.
Last night we had our Christmas Eve service at church and likely about 400 people attended. I hope many took the Gospel to heart. On our way there a few blocks from the church I saw a man pushing his bicycle down the street; picking up cans and bottles and dressed in a rag-tag assortment of winter clothes. I found myself weeping and softly saying “Come quickly Lord Jesus.” I felt like I had much in common with him because of all the things we have had happen lately and yet his condition reminded me of how blessed we are by His grace and provision.
The idea of going to sleep on Christmas Eve cold, hungry, and homeless is a thought that not many people in the culture think upon at this time of year.
May God use this time to open the hearts of many and be drawn to Him. For the entire year and life of the person and not just to feel good around the holidays; because the love of Christmas is eternal.

    God Bless all!!

    Soli Deo Gloria!

Joyous and Peaceful Christmas to All!

    Our candlelight service was beautiful.

We sang Joy to the World, aware that joy is not happiness, as you expressed Bruce.

The offering was for our free store — where we do not reverse poverty, but where we do stand with those who see no joy or hope in current situations.

    In Christ,
    Maru

Mart: I watched three hours of Bill Gaither Christmas specials last night on TV. Nobody sings Oh Holy Night like David Philps’ when he hits those high notes it’s enough to stir a Baptist to jump up and shout praises to the Lord. LOL

Merry Christmas to all from snowless Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are thankful to have a Father in Heaven who so loved us that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to be born of a virgin and die on a cross so that we might have life and have it abundantly. Christmas is required to make Easter a reality. Regards!

Merry Christmas everyone. May your day be filled with love and a special blessing of the Lord’s presence in you lives today and everyday.

Mart, “Mary did you know?” is just about my favorite song. It always brings tears to my eyes especially thinking about, “Mary did you know you were kissing the face of God?”. Wow!!!!

  8. Motorcycleminister says:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and, Love your neighbor as yourself. Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience…. Forgive as the Lord forgave you….And over all these virtues put on love…. Let there be peace in your hearts…. Be thankful… give thanks to God.

Let us all Love one another everyday of the year and share the gospel with love and respect to all. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all. Barry

As we gathered together on Christmas Eve, I was so blessed when our 15 and 13 year old granddaughters sang “Mary, did You Know?” and then our oldest granddaughter sang “Oh, Holy Night” in French. They sang after my husband did the readings from Isaiah 9:1-7, Matthew 1:18-23, and Luke 2:1-20. Pooh, I had chills and tears in my eyes when they sang about “did you know you were kissing the face of God” (I am always amazed everytime I hear that sung).

I never get tired of reading and singing about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is truly Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. How blessed we all are to be called His children. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all of my Brothers and Sisters on BTA.

    Brother Barry… great loving advice!
It only works however, If we also beleive in the world of false teaching that is so tolerated today!
Now, If we could just keep avoiding the hard teachings, you know the convicting words that will always cause strife among us. That strife is what brings out the unloving nature toward each other, always has, always will!
We must stand against certain things, even to the loss of a sister or brother, a father or a mother, a friend or even an enemy, we must fight to the last once of our being and teach even the unacceptable words, those which are now conceived as being unloving, harsh, narrow, not matured, even ignorant.
You see Barry it is not all that simple, this love you speak of, because if it is of Christ and follows all of his teachings, then it also divides to the bone and the marrow, pits brother against brother, and breaks up families and causes much strife among the nations!
Is that not also the Truth of His Words? Everyone of us who will Follow Him, also will suffer with Him today? Be Blessed, Gary

I’ve chosen to post on this older topic instead of the active current one, to avoid the wrath of the mature among us, who would label this type of post as being off topic, boring, out of context, self serving and prideful.
Tread on at your own risk…
What fun to be a Sunday school teacher and share loving little stories of the Bible to the happy little children attending. Telling them the easy things in the Word of God, as to not turn them away, but to growth them into it, with the easy words they want to hear. It is a blessing to serve the Lord in such a way. Been there, done that. All joy for me, the easy stuff.
But there are other assignments as well when you serve Him. There are tough places you must go, and tough words you must deliver, but many do not understand it as being also done in His Love.
Today’s ODJ talks of Jeremiah who had to put on a yoke and tell some very influential characters of his day, some very hard news.
Was there a more loving and easy way for him to serve what the Lord put on him?
Or, did he only take upon himself that yoke, choose to obey, and deliver that hard message?
Yes, speaking of Christ, the Cross, and His Salvation is profitable for many, but if we avoid the hard messages about what is “required” of us as we live for Him, that is a very hard sell!
The most difficult place you will ever encounter, is to deliver that message within the very family of God who has their matured minds set upon their Salvation Message alone, and at all cost what not to hear the Hell of reality that awaits some who believe that their sin is of no account. That message will not be tolerated by them!
For the God they serve is the easy and wide road with no works attached, no resisting evil, no sin to bear, no walking away from God. “Once Saved, Always Saved!”
But, there is “another message” in the word which awaits them to discover about His Loving Wrath! However, their form of chosen disobedience and unbelief of that premise, go together very well as it serves to present itself within the tainted for the masses,
OSAS message so easily delivered today,
and heavily Soiled by it’s Omission as well!
Love can sometimes “also be” a hard slap to a happy and defiant face, when it becomes the good parent’s reality that they must come home to dish out a very justifiable form of real Love.
The Book of James is a quick read, and if read with an “open mind” it has much to say for us all, and because of its universal message, it speaks to those who are already saved, and to what the requirements are for them to live it out. So either message may be found,
although part of it may not agreee with your choosen doctrine, God ultimately decides what He desires, not us! Have a blessed day! In His Love, Gary

  13. poohpity says:

Have you ever noticed when a child comes into the room no matter what the conversation is, the child wants all the attention. They interrupt, they show no common courtesy, no respect and want all the attention with no regard towards anyone else. In the book of James it says listen much and speak little but little children are always rambling out the mouth because they feel what they have to say is more important than anything else because their world revolves around them. The “Joy to the World” is understanding God’s grace and showing that to others. Truth without grace is wrath, Jesus brought truth and grace that is undeserved mercy.
