The Blessing

Artprize portrait of “the nations”

I’ve mentioned before how puzzled (and intrigued) I am with “The Blessing” God gave Aaron and his sons to pray over the nation of Israel.

Seemingly out of nowhere— for chosen ones who fall so short of their calling, God gives the priests of Israel a way of mediating divine favor and generosity with the words,

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ “So they will put my name on the Israelites, (says the Lord) and I will bless them.” (Numbers 6:24-27)

Lately I’ve been finding echoes of this blessing. For example, Psalm 67 rewords the Aaronic blessing into a desire and a prayer: “May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.

This time, however, the thought seems to flow through the Jewish songwriter into something far more than a nationalistic longing. This time the blessing sounds even more gracious, generous, and expansive. This time the songwriter actually says,

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us— so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.”

Repeatedly, the lyrics of this ancient song go on to reach out so benevolently far beyond the borders of the sons and daughters of Jacob. This time the desire and prayer for blessing reach out to “people of the whole world” (v 4); “all the nations” (v5); “so that God will richly bless us…and so people all over the world will fear (reverently trust) him (v7).

Seems, at the very least, to be a reminder that the One who wants us to think of him as our God and our Father has a heart to love and to bless far more than us, our family, our group, and our nation.

Foreverblessed, even though you thought you were “off topic” this morning, you may not have been :-)… You’re ahead of some of us in time, and maybe also in your name and national celebration today. Am bringing your thoughts forward and copying here. Hope you have a wonderful rest of day.

    Off topic:
Today is Kingsday in our country, just a big festival, every town city and village has a festivity.

Many youngsters from countries around us come to the Neteherlands to join us.

The king and his family visits a city, at 11 he arrived in Tilburg. And the city shows what it has. (it is on the national tv now, adn I am watching it. They arrived by train, and I saw on the train station clock that there was a delay of 5 minutes, no not real time, but a 5 minutes later)

Now that I am older I am beginning to appreciate our royal family. Being a republic can be OK, but strange people can get into power I have noticed over the years. These royal people have been trained from their youth for the job. And this family that we have in our country is quite responsible. We used to have queens for over a hundred years. Beatrix, the mother of our king Willem Alexander was a very good and sensible woman, but Willem is doing a good job too, with his wife beside him. It was so good to see that a man can imprive being a man by a good wife to stand next to him. A loving relation and a sparring partner. They have three daughters, the oldest is 12.
Now they are showing 50 piano’s, playing a piec of music for our king, as he turns 50 today.

    Just some side information.

Coming in late to this new topic and that means less uninterrupted time to write. My apologies if my thoughts sound broken.

Islamic believers believe that the Jew corrupted the Bible in order to make the Jew look and sound blessed of God all the while making only the line of blessing contributed to Abraham to Isaac to Jacob/Israel.

This desecration of the “truth” as they see it is one reason that they “hate” the Jew and or people/nation of Israel.

If you buy into the lie of Islam then you will look for every opportunity to find a reason not to “bless” Israel as you read and learn about God in the OT.

As you pick up on the arrival of Messiah Jesus, as Christian believers you can easily see that the entire world was blessed through the people Israel by the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.

If you can understand it, all of humankind was also blessed by the Jew’s rejection and subsequent execution of our Lord at the hands of the Romans.

God used Israel to accomplish His will, His way.

Because we believe God to be the same eternally; the promises He made He keeps and if you are a student of Scripture you see that in the end after the number of the gentiles has been fulfilled, God’s attention, His protection and His blessings once again return to the nation of Israel.

In fact all of prophesy is seen through the example and placement of Israel to the end of the age and return of Christ to reign and rule from Jerusalem.

He who blesses Israel He will bless, he who curses Israel He will curse. As it is written.

Good morning friends I am smiling after reading your topic Mart. That’s really all I need to get through any day is to remind myself that God blesses us all and as you say His blessing goes “beyond the borders” both literally and figuratively.

(Good thing I proof checked before I posted as my auto correct replaced the word “smiling” with “smoking”, which would have shocked me and changed the meaning altogether! Uffdah! As we say around here.)

  4. poohpity says:

The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, THAT THEY SHOULD SEEK GOD, AND PERHAPS FEEL THEIR WAY TOWARD HIM AND FIND HIM. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for

“‘In him we live and move and have our being’; (Acts 17:24-28)

    Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
‘Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Saviour all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.

    Perfect submission, perfect delight,
    Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
    Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

    (Chorus)
    Blesses assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
‘Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Looking in for the moment as I await the time for Matt’s shower.

I wanted to add that we as Christians are adopted into the family of Abraham and are afforded the same blessings as provided to Abraham and his descendants.

Our blessings are also multiplied as being “children of God” in Jesus our Lord.

Also one of the reasons Islam at its worst are murdering Christians all over the world of Islam and anywhere else they can spread their web of terror and hate.

    Steve

  7. poohpity says:

It would seem that the whole purpose of creating a separate nation as with Israel was to show people that there is a God who wants a relationship with everyone and through them would come the Savior of the world. In many areas of the law there were so many parts that welcomed people from the surrounding people groups that wanted to know about God and wanted to follow Him because all came from the same initial origin.

Most religions seem to promote self achievement to appease God but ours being different shows that God provided what He needed to appease Himself just with the primary goal of wanting us to know Him.

We can bash Muslims but I have seen and experienced that even professing Christians seem to terrorize and hate their own. Jesus taught that the world would know Him by the love we show not only our brothers/sisters but our enemies. We have received the blessing of God’s love not because of anything we do but because of who He is and to show we understand that great love is to bless others with it too.

  8. poohpity says:

Not because they deserve it but because of who we belong to.

  9. poohpity says:

Some of the times that professing Christians terrorize and hated their own for example is what they did to people of differing colors than them.

yes it is intriguing for ones who fall short to speak a blessing over the nation. it is even more intriguing that God would make a common man an Kingdom of Priest.

Exodus 19: 5 Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6 and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

when will israel become jealous of the priest of the other nations?

God forgive me for calling His Priest common.

Acts 11:9 But a voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.’

  11. street says:

thinking about the office of priest. been thinking about that long before this post was written. it still needs to be worked out in my heart and mind. still i know it is to be exercised in faith and obedience to God and God alone. to look at the office apart from humility would be folly and an epic disaster like eli or korah. God Bless us with Understanding, Compassion, and Obedience! Bless us with Christ!

  12. SFDBWV says:

I am thinking this morning of Mart’s last sentences, “…a heart to love and to bless far more than us, our family, our group, and our nation.”

We have repeatedly discussed the concept of reading between the lines of Scripture as well as forming a conclusion from the events, examples and teachings of the Bible as well.

In the future perfect heavenly example there is no darkness only the continued illumination of light from the ever present presence of God.

    There are not even shadows.

    As His light is everywhere.

In the created world we now live in there are laws of physics that can be applied to examples of the example of why everything is the way it is in life, physically and spiritually.

To everything there is an equal and opposite reaction.

There is light and darkness, there is up and down, happiness and sadness, and good and evil.

In the coming perfect existence there are no opposites. Happiness without sadness, eternal light, no more tears as evil and its results have been eternally done away with.

Whereas we are not there yet, we all every nations of peoples are on the pathway of time toward it.

The Creator of us all, of every existing thing indeed has the heart to bless all, not just part of His creation and in the end of how things are now that blessing will finally come to fruition.

But why not now? Why if God has the heart to bless all nations and peoples are not all nations blessed?

In my opinion it is because people individually and collectively fight against God by fighting against His principals and simple rules of living. By denying God they bring calamity/evil upon themselves and collectively upon their nations.

The blessings God has instore for them are withheld or denied as a result.

Such nations and such people are a problem for all other nations that God has blessed, because of their acceptance of Him and His precepts.

Yes God has a heart to bless all, but all do not have a heart to obey honor and receive.

    52 and foggy this morning.

  13. jeff1 says:

Is it not our expectations that are wrong expecting blessings when God has already given us the greatest blessing eternal life through His son ‘Jesus Christ’.

God’s plan meant Jesus suffering and since I am saved not by my works but as a ‘gift from God’ why should I not expect suffering to bring God’s plan to fulfilment.

In a modern world where younger generations are not even considering God then it is the very least I can do is remain faithful to Him.

The God of the mountain is still God in the valley which means He does not leave me but walks beside me all the way.

When I see people turning to drugs and other addictions rather than trusting God then I am thankful to know the gospel.

I believe knowing the gospel is a blessing in itself because many are following religions that lead them astray.

When I am trusting God past, present and future circumstances do not have power over me because my destiny is secured in He who created me and in Him I have my being.

  14. remarutho says:

    Good Morning BTA Friends —

    Mart, you remind all here:

“…the One who wants us to think of him as our God and our Father has a heart to love and to bless far more than us, our family, our group, and our nation.”

The Levites seem to stand for a parochial, nationalistic relationship between Israel and the Creator God. By contrast, the prophets seem to have a much broader vision of the world’s — even the universe’s relationship to Him.

People of faith risk looking naive and superficial as we cling to the One True Creator God. But, the plan God is unfolding has a place for both His Levites and His prophets to live out His holy intention.

More than one prophet has said:

“For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea.”

How can this be known except by the witness and proclamation of Jesus followers? How best to portray the Almighty unless we keep blessing those who do not know Him?

    Joy all day,
    Maru

    2C/36F with sunshine here.

  15. street says:

steve said,”But why not now? Why if God has the heart to bless all nations and peoples are not all nations blessed?”

the rain and sunshine fall on places man will never see because it pleases God.

thinking further…What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?…do they not also receive His grace and patience at this present time?

14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.

this is where it gets interesting…..

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said,

    “Sit at My right hand,
    Until I make Your enemies
    A footstool for Your feet”?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

could it be the children of wrath are rendering service to the children of God like angles?

the whole earth is filled with His Glory!!!

    may we be found faithful.

going back to your original question about all nations being blessed. yes through Israel. yet they all will drink from the cup of His wrath. only a remnant we be saved. you know the piece that was thought to be of no value. the stone rejected? God bless you in your sojourn.

  16. street says:

these thoughts lead me back to the Providance and the Sovereignty of God. He is Sovereign over all or His not.
    Deuteronomy 32:39
‘See now that I, I am He,
    And there is no god besides Me;
It is I who put to death and give life.
I have wounded and it is I who heal,
And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

    Romans9:14
14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! 15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.

thinking God owes no one mercy like a pay check, it is unmerited.

there is a verse in the Bible that say, Proverbs 27:2
Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.

thinking that is our job to praise and give thanks with a heart that delights in Him and no other.

thinking His Blessing are the greatest dreams promises hopes desires of sinful man.

thinking of job noah daneil and the here and now. it did not matter where these men lived as long as they could abide with God and walk with Him. thinking joshua and caleb the same way.

Thank you Mart for this topic, that the blessing is not only for us, our nation, but for all nations!
God had all nations in mind.

I will write in my bible at Numb 6:24-27: see Psalm 67.

The meaning of this Psalm gets much deeper now to me, mart thanks!

And I will write in Numb 6:24 , see Psalm 67 to all nations!

(Steve, I did say something to you in the last topic yesterday morning, and so to Joyce as well, just at the time Mart was changing topics, just have a look at it, if you please)

    Psalm 67:1-2
May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us Selah
May your ways be known on earth
    your salvation among all nations.

I was thinking too, how else would the nations see what God has done , as by those who have been saved by Him?
We as christians make known His ways.
At least, that should be the case. We as christians have a long way to go, to be such a light.

  19. foreverblessed says:

Street, so it is God who chooses, and when God chooses, hallelujah!

Deuteronomy 11:26 KJV “Behold I set before you this day a blessing and curse;” Deuteronomy 11:27 KJV “a blessing if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: Deuteronomy 11:28 KJV “And a curse if you will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods which you have not known.”

The people of Israel are being prepared to enter the Promised Land. A land God “gives” to them.

Forgotten by some is what this means. In real time it is war against those who already live there. There is a terrible price ahead for both sides of the conflict. People will die in the efforts to possess and to keep.

Very interesting that when we come to that place where we choose between Accepting Jesus as Lord there are two deaths that occur.

The death of Jesus of Nazareth and the death of our self-nature.

So that we can enter into that promised “land”.

Life is still a battlefield, but God has already given us the victory.

A thunderstorm is approaching already lost power once. 55 degrees.

While writing my last post we lost power, I was able to recover most of what I had already written so I quickly finished it and posted as another round of storms were approaching and then turned off the computer, for safety’s sake.

I wanted to say Foreverblessed I have since went back and looked at your remarks concerning me and particularly Matt on the last topic.

Thank you for your compassion and love for my family and I. Having a heart filled with love and hope is of itself a blessing and one you possess.

I have had many encounters with God, many, and have stood toe to toe with a dark and terrifying spirit. Many have told me I should write a book, but God already has written “my” book and only because of His great love for me can I have hope not just for me, but for all I hold dear in my heart.

Thank you again “Rita” for your friendship and fellowship.

Thank God He shines in the darkness! In the deep dark recesses of my soul where I may feel lost or forsaken I know I can count on His blessing over me constantly. Am I abiding in Him, or is He abiding in me? I think its both. Hallelu-Jah!

I pray all are feeling Gods blessings this weekend.

    Psalm 115New International Version (NIV)

    Psalm 115
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
2 Why do the nations say,
    “Where is their God?”
    3 Our God is in heaven;
    he does whatever pleases him.
4 But their idols are silver and gold,
    made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
    eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear,
    noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel,
    feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.
9 All you Israelites, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
10 House of Aaron, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
11 You who fear him, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
12 The Lord remembers us and will bless us:
He will bless his people Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord—
    small and great alike.
14 May the Lord cause you to flourish,
    both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 The highest heavens belong to the Lord,
but the earth he has given to mankind.
17 It is not the dead who praise the Lord,
    those who go down to the place of silence;
18 it is we who extol the Lord,
    both now and forevermore.
    Praise the Lord.

Some beautiful hymns and gospel songs on Sunday reflections today and this is one I have not heard in a while but renews my mind on a better world to come.

Well, some glad morning when this life is oer,
    I’ll fly away.
To a home on God’s celestial shore,
    I’ll fly away.

Oh, I’ll fly away, O Glory,
    I’ll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye
    I’ll fly away.

When the shadows of this life have gone,
    I’ll fly away.
Like a bird from prison bars have flown,
    I’ll fly away.

Oh, I’ll fly away, O Glory,
    I’ll fly away.
When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye
    I’ll fly away.

Well, just a few more weary days and then,
    I’ll fly away.
To a land where joy shall never end,
    I’ll fly away.

Oh, I’ll fly away, O Glory,
    I’ll fly away.
When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye
    I’ll fly away.

Oh, I’ll fly away, O Glory,
    I’ll fly away.
When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye
    I’ll fly away.

Wanted to share this Irish folk song as I think the words are beautiful and poignant and I heard it this morning.

As I went out walking, on a fine Summer day.
Through the hills and the valleys, I soon lost my way.
’til I came to an old man, kneeling down by a stream.
Gazing into the water, like he was lost in a dream.

In his hand was a picture, he clung to for life.
His eyes filled with tears, as he tried not to cry.
He looked to the heaven’s and started to pray.
in the quiet Country silence I could hear the man say.

    Chorus
Life is a river, I’ll go with the flow.
And where it will lead me, the Lord only knows.
I miss you sweetheart, your kindness and love.
But I know one day, we’ll sail away on God’s ocean above.

He said now young man, you’re a stranger to me.
Could I bother you kindly, for your company.
Today I am thinking, of a long time ago.
And I need to tell someone of a girl I loved so.

Its forty two years since Rose took my hand.
And proudly I lived life, her husband her man.
’tis only last week son, God took her away.
As I kissed her softly, these words she did say.

Life is a river, I’ll go with the flow.
And where it will lead me, the Lord only knows.
I miss you sweetheart, your kindness and love.
But I know one day, we’ll sail away on God’s ocean above.

And with that the old man, sent me on my way.
And sat by the water, I’ll kneel for the day.
I’ll look at the river, starting out on its life.
It’s where I’ve been close to, my beautiful wife.

  27. SFDBWV says:

Woke this morning to Matt being upset and what would sound as though he has (once again) reached his limit. Angry at still waking to the same nightmare, at being alive or born at all.

As is my habit I looked in on BTA while he ate and tried to find the energy or more importantly the spark to write something. That being my best opportunity to do so.

    Blank…

So I settled in with Matt as he watched some TV and listened to his string of complaining about life. Something that goes on all day every day.

I have over time wondered if this is what God hears from His children. A string of complaints about life and what it is they want. “The Blessing”.

When I sometimes run the familiar prayer of confession through my head I hear “Bless me Father for I have sinned”. For certain that blessing is one of forgiveness.

Then there is other forms that “blessings” take on. The blessing of provision, of health, of protection, a reward for effort, the birth of a child and if you think a little the list will grow and grow.

We have a holiday to give thanks for the blessing of a bountiful harvest.

There is a catch though, in order to give thanks for a blessing or ask for one, you have to know who it is to thank and to ask. And you have to have the belief that your request will follow.

What happens then when you don’t get what you ask for?

Are you cursed, ignored, not cared about?

Or are you blessed without ever realizing it or acknowledging it? A gift from a God who will love you no matter what and have the longsuffering love it takes to listen to your complaints with a heart of compassion and just let you complain.

Wonder what it is you are blessed with that you may know and what you may not know, yet blessed.

    “Blessings”

We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

‘Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe

‘Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

    When friends betray us
    When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
    That this is not,
    This is not our home
    It’s not our home

‘Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near

What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
    Are your mercies in disguise

But the test of faith is only found
When there are burdens to bear-
For our claim to faith in the “sunshine”
Is really no faith at all
For when roads are smooth and days are bright
Our need for God is so small,
And no one discovers the fullness
Or the greatness of God’s love
Unless he has walked in the “darkness”
With only a light from Above-
For the faith to endure whatever comes
Is born of sorrow and trials,
    And strengthened only by discipline
    And nurtured by self-denials-
So be not disheartened by troubles,
For trials are the “building blocks”
On which to erect a fortress of faith
    Secure on God’s “ageless rocks.”

  30. joycemb says:

    The Blessing

    Genesis 32

But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”

    “Jacob,” he answered.

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”

29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”

But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[b] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”

I’m thinking our struggle with God and man (ourselves included) to get the blessing is real and painful, but it is good because God is very good. Better than we can even begin to imagine. So wishing all friends here blessings abundant this coming week. Joyce

  31. street says:

    the Blessing?

could it be knowing God and seeing Him face to face?

  32. jeff1 says:

    Steve 8.23 am post.

Wonder what it is you are blessed with that you may know and what you may not know, yet blessed.

I am blessed to know that the heart can be deceitful above all else.

I can tell myself half truths until God says otherwise.

Do I believe I can get to know God this side of heaven?

I believe I can get to understand God this side of heaven but getting to know God is the work of God Himself and the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit within that person.

TO GOD TO BE THE GLORY GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE

  33. street says:

It’s easy to be so consumed with the gifts that we forget the Giver! And if we do that, we end up worshiping the blessings and not the One who in His amazing grace has blessed us. Joe Stowell

  34. joycemb says:

Why I make it a daily practice to thank God for all things, whether good or bad, because Gods notion of “good” is different from mine usually. And what I see as bad most often becomes good in Gods economy. May all that is within me bless His holy name.

  35. foreverblessed says:

    Dear Steve,
Thank you for your kinds words. But you must know that I was not so positive myself, it is through the Grace of God, that He worked it out in me. Adfter I said: I do not want to focus on all that is going wrong!

Thank you also very much for sharing the struggles of Matt, yesterday I could read it but I could not comment, but I have been praying for you, and Matt, and your family!
Hang in there, and hold on, but that is what you do. And indeed, you must feel how it is to be God: hearing day and night the whoes of the children of men!

I guess that in the end, when you have entered the kingdom, and Matt too, that you will look back and say, Yes, that was a wonderful work the lord did in our lives.

If we are christians who want to follow Jesus all the way, that is we said to Jesus: “I am totally Yours” then Romans 12:1 becomes real:

We offer our bodies as living sacrifices.

I once heard a sermon about this: We can ask for healing, years and years, and it seems God does not answer. Then some knowledge of sacrificial love enters our mind: God is doing something through our suffering, something we do not understand now, but our suffering in the body does some good somewhere else.

So we learn to put our bodies on the altar, we lay our lives in Gods hands, and we, by faith know, that something wonderful is being worked out.

There were times that I thought that only Jesus Cross can do that, why would we have to suffer too, if His sacrifice was sufficient for all sins of the world. But Paul says clearly:

Now I rejoice in what was suffering for you, and I fill up in y flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of His Body, which is the church.

  36. foreverblessed says:

Street was talking a obut Jacob, and his struggles. These are such good lessons for us, and for all the struglling we do.
In the end, Jacob stopped struggling with God and with men, and then he started to bless!
In the bible study of Watchmen Nee, he talks about Jacob, who was the hardest for God to work with, Jacob a self-willed man, but what he wanted self, was the same as what God wanted: the firstborn right. But Jacob worked it out himself.
The name; God of Jacob, stands for the Holy Spirit, disciplining the self willed man! God will finish the work He started in us. The Holy Spirit will!

And Jacob was the one who was transformed into a jewell, he was the one who started to bless!
    Genesis 47:10
    Jacob blessed Pharaoh!!!
(that was something Isaac did not do with Abimelech, Gen 26:10-12
Just to add some more, lets have Abraham in as well, Watchman Nee wrote that only Jacob blessed, and not Isaac nor Abraham. I see that Abraham is also doing something positive:
Gen 20:11,17 Abraham prayed for his wives, so they could have children again, something Abraham did not have to do for his own wife, for he knew God would handle that. Abraham was doing what we should learn: Lay our desires on the altar, letting God do what He wants to do, and start praying for others needs)

When we have had our struggles, we stop asking things for ourselves, (as we are convinced God will take care of our needs), and then, we have all the time left to start blessing others around us.

And so, the blessing will go to all the nations, as Psalm 67:1-2 tells us so.

so the name God of Jacob, to me is not ment to be a nationalistic name: God favoring one nation. But to me it stands for God, who will have his way with self-willed man.
If God could work with Jacob, He can work with anybody.
    And so make this man,
who was so focussed on his own well being,
into a man who blesses those he meets.

  37. jeff1 says:

Forever, it is so evident from your writing that you read your Bible to understand God’s ways.

I am so glad for your comments this morning because I often feel that strong willed men insist having their own way and I can forget that God can work in them as He does in me because I forget that I can be a self-willed woman.

I so often need to take the plank out of my own eye to see that God is not powerless but it is I who limit Him to my own state of mind.

It is about trusting God and not on my own understanding because truthfully I despair at not only this world but there is despair in myself at my own weaknesses and failures in life and my lack of overcoming them.

Perhaps you can help me understand what is meant to make my stumbling block a cornerstone?

My stumbling block is that I cannot get past my weaknesses, I am captive to them and they cause me to despair and there is a cycle so that I cannot get out of the cycle.

I do not blame God for this as I am well aware of my own inadequacies but it is what to do with them as they cause me much of my distress in life.

I tell myself hand them to God, yet it is that they are so much part of who I am afraid to let go of them because I would not me without them and I cannot imagine being someone different.

  38. poohpity says:

It seems that the things we do or the actions we take are not who we are but a response to the way we think. Some things hold us captive to them but if we let go of them then it makes us more ourselves than ever before. God made us unique but the things we encounter are common to all mankind so we can either allow them to dictate who we are or we can live who God says we are His children free to be ourselves without the chains of the world that hold us down.(Matt 16:23 NLT; Romans 14:13)

  39. poohpity says:

It seems like God wants to transform the way we think about Him, ourselves, life and others. (Romans 12:2 NLT; Eph 4:23-24 NLT) To be an example of Christ likeness; in attitude (humility), in character (loving), and in compassion (coming alongside the down and out) to imitate Jesus brings on a whole new way of thinking.

  40. poohpity says:

Now that sounds like really being a blessing to others.

  41. jeff1 says:

The truth is that God can still use flawed people otherwise this world would have no hope.

It is not about how we see ourselves or others but how God sees us and He already knows what we are made of warts and all but we put expectations on ourselves that God never asked us to but beliefs get in the way of God’s will as I had beliefs in my head since childhood and I am only just getting to understand God so there is conflicting thoughts in my head.

I sometimes have to step back and reflect to see God working.

  42. poohpity says:

If it is God who transforms our thinking then we will see ourselves and others how He sees and how He thinks about us/them. Basically He knows we are flawed and broken but still has a heart of compassion and love, isn’t that how He wants us to see as well thus develops humility(not thinking more or less of anyone including ourselves).

  43. jeff1 says:

I think it is I who desire perfection while God says His Grace is sufficient because He can work with my imperfections in a world that is imperfect.

God has his way of keeping me humble, as He did Paul, He knows who to discipline and who not to as He knows His children better than we know ourselves.

  44. street says:

    The Blessing
thinking….isn’t the the blessing we covet, the love and affection of God?

at church i run into people who demonstrate affection and an out going spirit to me and other not so much. to be sure i enjoy these brief encounters. who could not? then i go on my way and they on theirs.

i am reminded of One Who Promised to never leave me nor forsake me. His love and faithfulness, eternal. i also understand His love involves a cross, He has asked me to carry. a fellowship of suffering. that in all ways i would be conformed to His Image. you could go through suffering on your own but i don’t recommend it. it is better to go through it with the One Who has proven Himself. He says His yoke is easy and light. could it be He strengths us to carry it. my He be exalted forever.

  45. joycemb says:

“Nothing in my hands I bring,
    Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.”

  46. joycemb says:

I’m thinking about what street said about people at his church, thinking that we can drive ourselves and others crazy demanding they pay attention to us all the time. Even worse to throw scripture at them to remind them how they fail to live up to loving standards. All Fall Short of perfection, but God! Yes, God will do what we are unable to do. Grace is the greatest blessing I think.

  47. jeff1 says:

Yes, Joyce, that is very much evident through the characters in the Bible that God’s Grace carried them through life in circumstances I cannot even begin to imagine.

I love the teachings of Paul because he knew what it was to be an enemy of God at the worst level and perhaps that is why he understood God best because he knew how deceitful the heart can be and it is in knowing that, that we realize that God has already blest us with the greatest gift which is Grace.

I think Paul understood this so fervently that he was prepared to suffer any loss to himself proving his faithfulness to God.

Paul is a difficult act to follow when it comes to a man of God, I believe.

  48. foreverblessed says:

Steve How are you doing? I keep on praying for you and Matt, and Glenna.

Jeff, I am reacting to your comment May 1, 5.25 am., to let go, is such a hard thing to do. We all struggle with it. To let go of self, let go of all our infirmities. We go to the Cross, we lay our shortcomings our weakness there, and then I stand up, walk away, and take them with me.
I pray that you, and I, will leave them at the cross.
There is one thing that I am learning: Instead of rehearsing over and over again what is wrong with me, in me, around me, in my country,
    Instead of that wrong
    I could start praising God!

The Psalm Mart gave seems to say that too:
    Psalm 67:5-7
May the people praise you, O God,
may all the peoples praise you.
THEN (yes, what then) the land will bring its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.

It takes God a while to fix the problem, we give our problem to HIM, and then this is how we will hacle it, when we are mature in Christ: we walk away, believing God is working at it, just because we asked. And we can start praising Him, singing songs, and Psalms

Your song of May 1, 7.22 pm is just telling that too.
If we sing, and the words sink in our hearts, they will bring the blessing.

Being a christian is being disciplined. It is a training.
Instead of fixing my eyes on what is wrong in me, I fi my eyes on Jesus.
( But, it is difficult, when having headaches, my thoughts go over and over again how my head feels, now it is on this side, now it is on that side wrong. It is so hard to start singing, even singing quietly in my head.)
    So we should take note of all the bible verses that say;
He who overcomes, like, he who stands firm in Christ, he who has his eyes fixed on Jesus, as the Help comes from Him He is the source of all good, of all blessings, He is the Fountain of our life, He is all we need. He is the Wisdom, He is the Peace, He is the Patience, from Him flow all things that are good for us.

  49. foreverblessed says:

when we are mature in Christ we handle it (not hacle it) like this: we sing songs, we praise Him, we sing Psalms and spiritual songs, and we are very very sure that God is doing a good job working at the problem.

The song Pooh gave is good, what if the blessing comes through the trial? Not that the trial itself is bringing any good, but that the trial is driving us closer to God.

  50. foreverblessed says:

Todays reading in the big church in my town, ( the church is from 1460, or somewhat, it is a beautiful building, visitors come in and walk around and many write in the prayer book)
We sing a Psalm, and a few songs, and there is a bible reading, nand after that we pray over the prayers of the prayerbook,
    Today is Psalm 116
and I pray it over Matt:

I love the Lord, for he heard my voice,
He heard my cry for mercy.
Because He turned his ear to me,
I will call on Him as long as I live
The cords of death entangled me.
The anguish of the grave came upon me,
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
    “O Lord, save me.”

The Lord is gracious and righteous,
our God is full of compassion.
The Lord protects the simple hearted,
when I was is great need, He saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you

  51. poohpity says:

“Seems, at the very least, to be a reminder that the One who wants us to think of him as our God and our Father has a heart to love and to bless far more than us, our family, our group, and our nation.” For those of us who live in the western culture often we see the prosperity around us and feel we are indeed blessed and often come to take even water coming from our taps for granted while God sees our confession of need for Him as the greatest blessing and that has no borders or boundaries and often leads us away from self sufficiency to God sufficiency.

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,[a]
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
    4
    God blesses those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
    5
God blesses those who are humble,
for they will inherit the whole earth.
    6
God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,[b]
    for they will be satisfied.
    7
God blesses those who are merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
    8
God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
    for they will see God.
    9
God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.
    10
God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.(Matt 5:3-12 NLT)

  52. street says:

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

  53. SFDBWV says:

Foreverblessed, thank you for asking, we are all doing fine. By that I mean to say there are no current disasters befalling us, only the normal frustrations and actions in dealing with the life we are given.

The sun will be rising here in a little while, the singing of the birds seem to call for it as their songs of morning prayers fill the darkness just before the dawn.

The birds seem to know something that most people have forgotten.

  54. poohpity says:

Yesterday in our little apartment complex of about 300 we celebrated the life of one of our residents who went to be with the Lord last week. As I prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to our Lord for blessing us with Chuck I spoke of how every person we come in contact with effects our lives in some manner or another, good, bad or indifferent whether for a moment or a lifetime. They show us more about ourselves and how we either act or react to them in our relationship and how much the Lord has of our hearts. He will be missed greatly.

“If I (Jesus) be lifted up I will draw all men to myself”. The original Blessor. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. ” Paul said he’d rather be accursed than to see any of his brothers lost. What passion and love!

  56. plumbape says:

Well I finally figured out how to stumble back in the room…
Good to see everyone here again, God bless you all. We are still here in Indy being blessed and humble! Will comment more now that I can log in and read as well as comment!!
    Am loving it.

thinking about these verses all with this one….ever on my mind let them never leave me……John 12:23 Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. 25 Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life.

1 Peter 5:10 10 The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little. 11 To him be dominion forever. Amen.

  59. street says:

    The Blessing
thinking about the blanket that is too short and too narrow and a cold night.
does it really matter if one’s bother gets the blessing that says all people will be blessed through them?
it’s not possible for His arm to be too short to bless.

thinking the blessing must pass through.

was thinking about something else pertaining to the blessing while raking the yard and don’t remember what it was now. would like to recall it.

  60. SFDBWV says:

Today is “Star Wars Day”. This story and subsequent movies is one that succeeded so well, in my opinion, because it touches something in us all.

Good versus evil, light versus darkness and in the end good wins.

I once had this idea that all of our literature had its base from all of Scripture, but in further learning I seen that the early Greek literature still covered the same story bases as do all stories.

It seems that fiction is simply a use and twist of truth. The best fiction having just enough truth in it to be believable.

When I think of epic literature, I think of sagas where generations are used in order to tell a story. A concept we see in the Monarch butterfly and its fragile life.

It takes three generations of Monarch butterflies to complete their trek from their origin in Mexico to Canada and back again. Three generations in order to complete their circle of life.

I wonder what a true blessing is, one that gives material things to people or one that opens the eyes and hearts of people so that they appreciate what it is that matters in the end?

If we look at the world today it is very difficult to see any nation that is blessed as darkness is rising and with it its offspring’s of hatred and destruction gaining strength.

As we ask God today for His blessing, we are still asking for His light to out shine the darkness and good win out over evil.

Tell someone today that you love them and really mean it, it is a blessing you can give another.

  63. poohpity says:

What a blessing it is to know that each of us has been chosen even before the foundations of the world to come into a relationship with the Lord. Some answer that call while others refuse but just to know God knew our names before our parents even did. He knew those who would make a choice for Him before we had breath in our bodies. Now that is a blessing that goes beyond our family, our group, or our nation.

  64. poohpity says:

God did not have to tell us He loved us, He showed it by the things He has done for us.

  65. street says:

    The Blessing
thinking about oswald chambers devotional today and the word vicarious, 1.

looking around at the wind and the waves is foolishness in the face of God. God has the power to calm the winds and the waves too. when we are told to change the sails we change the sails. God never changes.

  67. joycemb says:

I’ve been thinking about the Kingdom of God which came to us when Jesus conquered sin and death. I’m thinking that within every nation the Kingdom already exists. We must choose to be a part of His kingdom or the earth. Blessing or curse we must and do choose by default. There’s no middle ground to hide in.

  68. jeff1 says:

When I think of all the difficulties in life and I look back and wonder how I have come this far I can see who was with me!

I’ve come too far to look back
My feet have walked through the valley
    I’ve climbed mountains, crossed rivers
    Desert places I’ve known
But I’m nearing the home shore
    The redeemed are rejoicing
    Heaven’s angels are singing
I’ve come too far to look back
    Look around, there’s no happiness
    There’s no reason for living
Life will give you a broken dream
    Filled with heartaches and fear
Turn around and don’t look back again
Face the new day before you
Place your heartache in Jesus’s hand
    He will mend broken dreams
I’ve come too far to look back again
    There is nothing behind me
All the treasures I used to love
    Have all faded from view
There’s a new day ahead for me
    All my heartache is over
For I left it at Calvary
    Where my new life began
    Heaven’s angels are singing
I’ve come too far to look back

  69. poohpity says:

For me this morning I had to think about what is the definition of blessed or blessing to understand what this all means.

  70. joycemb says:

Viv each new day seems to be a new round of difficulties and disappointments doesn’t it? Yesterday was not good for me but for the Kingdom it was awesome, why I can take some hours to “regroup” today before I put on my walking shoes and get back to work. I am so blessed and am glad to return my blessings to the Giver of blessings as Jesus showed and told us to do. Have a blessed day!

  71. street says:

    The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.

    Every morning a new arrival.

    A joy, a depression, a meanness,

    some momentary awareness comes

    as an unexpected visitor.

    Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,

    who violently sweep your house

    empty of its furniture,

    still treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out

    for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,

meet them at the door laughing,

    and invite them in.

    Be grateful for whoever comes,

    because each has been sent

    as a guide from beyond.

At the moment I am on holiday, in nothern Italy, the Alps, beautiful mountain area!
But the wifi is off and on, so see if this comes through.
May God bless you all, and I ask God this very boldy, by the blood of Christ!

  75. foreverblessed says:

Joyce, I do not want to gainsay you, I do not like that, but the saying of Rumi, I do not know, this is how I see it:
If depression stands at the door: fight it, fight it with all your might, in the blood of Christ.
If meanness stands at the door, don’t open it.
But if a person with depression stands at the door, be warm to the person , but the depression must be fought as the Holy Spirit shows the way how to do it.

So, no hard feelings, just my take on Rumi, ( who is Rumi, my internet access is not that good).

  76. foreverblessed says:

On the blessing, and on being bold, we can ask anything in accordance with the kingdom of God. As we were traveling through Europe, I was thinking, can I ask God to bless these areas? And the Bible verse came into my mind:
God can do innumarably more than we can know.
So be bold! In the blood of Christ!
    Ask God to bless many!

  77. SFDBWV says:

Foreverblessed it sounds as if you are enjoying your holiday. I must say traveling through the Italian Alps sounds like a visual paradise.

My namesake ancestor came from Switzerland to America in 1729. I have often wondered what I might find out about my family if I traveled back to Switzerland and looked up our history. Then again maybe it is best to not know at all.

In all the centuries of breeding we all become a mixture of so many people, I am all of them and they are all of me.

When I think about it, it is like Jesus has said He is in the Father and the Father is in Him.

If we look deeper, we, all of us are a part of each other whether we want to be or not. Maybe if we could just truly understand that we might see each other as just one big family. Funny because I know families that don’t even speak to each other and fight like cat’s and dog’s when they do.

Sorry I went off on a tangent and started to ramble, I hope you are very blessed “Foreverblessed” especially on you holiday.

Forever I was taught years ago by a Christian counselor to embrace my pain or whatever because God is in it. Not always easy to do but so much better than denying and trying to push it away. As for meanness, well, as you have said many times here to pray for those who are mean and isn’t that embracing them? But I believe that Rumi, an ancient mystic as you are a Christian mystic, is talking about our body (shell) being a house and all thoughts, feelings etc are there to be embraced and to trust that God has a reason for allowing them into our lives. To teach us something.

Glad you are enjoying your vacation and no offense taken at all by your question as I know your heart is pure.

    Blessings, Joyce

    Blessing [N]

God’s intention and desire to bless humanity is a central focus of his covenant relationships. For this reason, the concept of blessing pervades the biblical record. Two distinct ideas are present. First, a blessing was a public declaration of a favored status with God. Second, the blessing endowed power for prosperity and success. In all cases, the blessing served as a guide and motivation to pursue a course of life within the blessing.

It is also possible for a person to “bless” God. The terminology arises as a response to the blessings bestowed by God: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” ( Psalm 103:2 KJV ). These occurrences of “bless” are usually translated “praise” or “extol” in modern versions.

  80. poohpity says:

I think the term Christian mystic is a misnomer for one who has a relationship with God. The trinity becomes One with each other however we are one(together, united in purpose and goal)with/in God but not One as in the relationship of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Otherwise that is a new age term that does not represent our relationship with God.

  81. poohpity says:

That would be claiming equality to God. I know some would like to believe they are one equal to God but that is heresy at it’s finest and would not be recognizing the distinct difference in our status and who God is.

I’ve been blessed in so many ways but I have not always been honest here about my PTSD. I was sexually abused as a child by my older brother. I woke up to him giving me oral sex and wanted me to but I was to young to know what he was doing. My parents heard us and spoke me about it so I told them. They figured don’t talk about it and it will go away. After years of juvenile I went to prison only to meet a man called Dago. We became friends, he got me in his cell house and eventually in his cell. Two weeks went by and he raped me. I felt be trade and hurt and confused. I got out and went back and back n his cell but signed in to protected custody. He got out, killed another man and was sentenced to death which turned to life after they abolished the death sentence in Illinois. I started to write him when I was about 50, I forgave him and he was sorry. He’s a Christian now and in PC himself. I’ve helped him with the bible and trying to understand it better. He’s a brother to me, I love him.
My wife needed to be humbled as I did. She had a stroke and has been home now 4 years. She has to rely on me and nurses aides and me. She is getting worse as well as myself, I pitched a nerve in my lower back 2 years ago, a cortisone shot has helped it but still take pain meds daily. We listen to our daily bread every morning as well as some others. We are 60 now nd life comes at you fast! I love everyone and pray for everyone to turn to Christ.
    Be blessed everyone…

God bless you Michael with all that you require. Life is not a pleasant walk and for some more of a life long struggle.

I remember the problems you shared with us earlier and you are indeed blessed to now be the caregiver for your wife.

Keep going brother there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Prayers from our house to you and Sharon.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ “So they will put my name on the Israelites, (says the Lord) and I will bless them.” (Numbers 6:24-27Open in Logos Bible Software (if available))

thinking this blessing takes on a whole new meaning when it is spoken by a person in which the Spirit of God dwells. it use to be spoken by people who where appointed. now it is to be spoken by the Children of God. where they not children of God you might ask ? yes, indeed. yet something marvelous happen since then 1 the cross and 2 Pentecost. the new covenant is soooo much better than one spoken on a mtn of curse.

When life overwhelms me with either difficulties or wonder He is my shelter.

    PEACE IN THE SHELTER

    Wonderful peace
When the cares of life seem more than I can handle
And clouds of doubt have settled in my soul
When everywhere I turn the storm is raging
Into the loving Saviour’s arms I go

There is peace in the shelter of His arms
A refuge from the storm where I am safe from harm
Through the strongest winds and pouring rain
There’s peace in the shelter of His arms

There’s never been a moment on this journey
That I have been forsaken or alone’
‘Cause every time I face the unexpected
My Father gently leads through the unknown

There is a peace in the shelter of His arms
A refuge from the storm where I am safe from harm
Through the strongest winds and pouring rain
There’s peace in the shelter of His arms

There’s a peace that passes understanding
And peace that goes beyond all comprehending

Peace in the shelter of His arms
A shelter from the storm where I am safe from harm
Through the strongest winds and pouring rain
There’s peace in the shelter of His arms

There’s peace in the shelter of His arms
    Wonderful peace

    Lamentations 3:25-33 MSG
25 God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. 26 It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God. 27 It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times. 28 When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. 29 Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. 30 Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The “worst” is never the worst. 31 Why? Because the Master won’t ever walk out and fail to return. 32 If he works severely, he also works tenderly. His stockpiles of loyal love are immense. 33 He takes no pleasure in making life hard, in throwing roadblocks in the way:

  88. joycemb says:

8 If you are left without discipline, jin which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to kthe Father of spirits land live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, mthat we may share his holiness. Hebrews 12

  89. jeff1 says:

    Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son;
    endless is the victory, thou o’er death hast won;
angles in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
kept the folded grave clothes where thy body lay.
    Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, thou o’er death hast won.

    Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
    Lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
    let the church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing;
for her Lord now liveth, death has lost its sting.
    Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, thou o’er death hast won.

    No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of Life;
    life is naught without thee; aid us in our strife;
make us more than conquerors, through thy deathless love:
bring us safe through Jordan to they home above.
    Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, thou o’er death hast won.

Having trouble posting this, bad gateway.
And wifi is off and on. So, I do not know if I can communicate now.

But nature is beautiful here, mountains, white on top with fresh show, rising high into the sky. Very impressive!
It reminds me of Psalm 66:1-20,
the one preceding Psalm 67, about which Mart sprake,
To me it sounds that Psalm 66 talks about the earth, all the earth sing praise to You, v1, 4
And the next Psalm talks about all the nations, more about people.

But maybe I get this idea, because I have such impressive nature around me.

( The wheather is reasonable, Joyce)

    Lets try tot post this,
    may God bless us all!

    ape, heard this song today.

    Clean by Natalie Grant

    I see shattered
    You see whole
    I see broken
    But You see beautiful
And You’re helping me to believe
You’re restoring me piece by piece

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
    You wash me in mercy
    I am clean

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
    You wash me in mercy
    I am clean

What was dead now lives again
My heart’s beating, beating inside my chest
Oh I’m coming alive with joy and destiny
Cause You’re restoring me piece by piece

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
    You wash me in mercy
    I am clean

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
    You wash me in mercy
    I am clean

Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
    My dirty rags are purified
    I am clean
